Paneer roast is a very delicious dish. Though we are calling it roast but the style of cooking is bit different. This is a complete vegetarian dish without using onion and garlic. I am sure you all will love this yummy paneer roast.
Preparation time : 15 minutes Cooking time : 15 minutes Serves : 4 Ingredients : 250 grm paneer ( Indian cottage cheese ) cube 2 cardamom ½ inch cinnamon 2 clove 6 to 8 black pepper 1 bay leaves 1 tsp red chilly powder or to taste ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp cashew paste 2 tbsp coconut paste 2 tbsp tomato paste 2 tbsp yogurt 2 tsp ghee / clarified butter 2 tbsp oil ½ tsp garam masala 1/2 + cup water ¼ tsp sugar salt to taste
Methods of Cooking :Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the paneer cube a little. Then in bowl of water add little salt and place the fried paneer. Heat oil in a pan and then add 1 tsp ghee with it. Add bay leaves cardamom, clove , cinnamon, black pepper. When you get the smell of the fried masala , then add tomato paste, coconut paste, yogurt, cashew paste, coconut paste, red chilly powder, turmeric powder. Stir and cook till oil comes out. Add water let it come to boil. Then add the paneer cube and cook for 6 to 8 minutes When the gravy thickens add another tsp of ghee and garam masala . Mix well with soft hands. Put off the flame . Give 3 to 8 minutes of standing time. Serve with pulao, naan or roti ( Indian flat bread).
