Goan Mutton Curry Goan Mutton curry is a very favorite dish of Goa. I really like this hot spicy, flavorful delicious mutton preparation from the beautiful beach destination . I tried to cook it in my way. It comes out delicious. Hope you too will like this yummy Goan mutton curry.
Preparation time : 20 minutes Cooking time : 40 to 50 minutes Serves : 4 Ingredients : 750 grms mutton cubes ( I use goat meat) ¼ cup yogurt 1 tomato paste 3 onion chopped 1 tbsp garlic paste ½ tbsp ginger paste 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp coriander powder ½ tsp cumin powder 1 tsp or to taste red chilly powder ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilly powder ½ tsp black pepper powder 1 bay leaves 2 tbsp coconut paste ¼ cup oil 1 tsp garam masala 1 tbsp vinegar Salt to taste
Methods of Cooking :
Marinate the mutton for 2 to 3 hours with turmeric powder, salt and yogurt. Heat oil add bay leaves then add garlic paste. Fry for few second then add chopped onion. Fry till little brown. Then add ginger paste, stir for few second. Then add tomato paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilly powder, Kashmiri red chilly powder, black pepper powder. Now stir fry the masala till oil comes out. Then add the marinated mutton. Stir the mutton till it’s fried well in the masala.. Now add the coconut paste and salt. Stir fry again well. Now add 2 cups of warm water. Let it come to boil and then pressure cook till the mutton is tender. Now open the lid and then add garam masala and vinegar. Mix well.Put off the flame. Cover and give 6 to 8 minutes standing time. Serve with hot steamed rice or any pulao or bread of your choice.
