I want to wish all my Indian friends A Very Happy Independence Day.
Rasmalai is a well known Bengali dessert . In Bengali we call it Rosomalai. Rasmalai is derived from and Hindi word which mean Ras means “ juice” and Malai means “cream”. Rasmalai are soft cottage cheese balls dipped in creamy sweet flavored milk. We will be celebrate 67th Independence day tomorrow . So here is a sweet treat for all my Indian friends. Today's recipe is bit different from the regular rasmalai. The twist in this recipe is the add of pumpkin. Hope you all like it.
Preparation time 15 minutes Cooking time 15 to 20 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients : 8 rasgulla ½ liter double toned creamy milk ½ cup pumpkin paste ¼ tsp cardamom powder ½ tsp saffron 1 cup sugar or to taste 1 tsp ghee/ clarified butter
Methods of Cooking
Take a pan and then heat a ghee add the pumpkin paste. Now stir for 2 minutes. Add cardamom powder. Stir then add sugar. Mix well. Now add milk . Stir let it boil for 10 to 15 minutes constantly stir. Take hot milk and add saffron . Now add it to the milk. Mix well put off the flame.Squeeze the rasgolla so that the syrup come out from the balls. But do it with soft hands so that you don’t break the balls. Now add it too the hot pumpkin milk. Let it come to room temperature then put refrigerate it for 2 to 3 hours. Your lip smacking pumpkin rasmali is ready. Enjoy!
