Onion Chicken /Chicken cooked in fried spicy onion

Onion chicken is a very delicious quick to make chicken dish. If you are preparing a quick dinner in busy weekdays or want to relish a quick dish in the weekend then this onion chicken can make your menu really awesome. This dish is healthy too as we are mainly using onion which is packed with health benefits. Onion contains vitamic C and chromium. Chromium is a mineral that helps cells to respond to insulin and help to control blood glucose. Onion also contains phytochemicals called flavnoids which help to help Vitamin C in its function this integrity of blood vessels and decreasing inflammation. On the other hand chicken is also very healthy as it is a good source of protein and Vitamin B6 which is the good for energy and cardio vascular health. Today we are taking both this healthy ingredients to make an awesome onion chicken.

 Preparation time 20 minutes 
Cooking time   20 to 30 minutes
Serves 4

4 chicken leg pieces
½ tsp of turmeric powder
½  tsp of Kashmiri red chili powder
1 tbsp of garlic paste
2 whole garlic
1 whole small onion
3 large onion finely sliced
1 tbsp of chili sauce
4 tbsp of tomato ketchup
1 tsp of cashew paste
8 to 10 whole fried cashew
½ tsp of mustard seed 
2  whole red chilly
½ tsp of sugar
¼  cup of sunflower oil 
Salt and pepper to taste

Methods Of Cooking
First rub the chicken pieces with salt and little turmeric powder and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes. Take a big bowl of water and put the chicken leg pieces two whole garlic love and one whole small onion and let it boil till the chicken is almost cooked. Strain water and keep the chicken leg pieces aside. Now heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seed and whole red chili. When the mustard seed starts to splutter then add the garlic paste. Stir for a few second then add the chopped onion. Fry till the onions are golden then add tomato ketchup, chili sauce, Kashmiri red chili powder, cashew paste salt and sugar. Fry this whole masala mixture for a minute. Then add the cooked chicken leg pieces. Coat it well with the masala sprinkle 2 to 3 tbsp of chicken stock. Stir, cook and fry the chicken in this masala for 5 minutes add pepper powder mix well. At last add the fried cashew. Adjust seasoning. Put off the flame. Cover and give 5 minutes standing time and then serve. Onion chicken goes very well with fried rice, paratha and kulcha.
