Preparation time 20 minutes Cooking time 20 to 30 minutes Serves 4 Ingredients: 4 chicken leg pieces ½ tsp of turmeric powder ½ tsp of Kashmiri red chili powder 1 tbsp of garlic paste 2 whole garlic 1 whole small onion 3 large onion finely sliced 1 tbsp of chili sauce 4 tbsp of tomato ketchup 1 tsp of cashew paste 8 to 10 whole fried cashew ½ tsp of mustard seed 2 whole red chilly ½ tsp of sugar ¼ cup of sunflower oil Salt and pepper to taste Methods Of CookingFirst rub the chicken pieces with salt and little turmeric powder and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes. Take a big bowl of water and put the chicken leg pieces two whole garlic love and one whole small onion and let it boil till the chicken is almost cooked. Strain water and keep the chicken leg pieces aside. Now heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seed and whole red chili. When the mustard seed starts to splutter then add the garlic paste. Stir for a few second then add the chopped onion. Fry till the onions are golden then add tomato ketchup, chili sauce, Kashmiri red chili powder, cashew paste salt and sugar. Fry this whole masala mixture for a minute. Then add the cooked chicken leg pieces. Coat it well with the masala sprinkle 2 to 3 tbsp of chicken stock. Stir, cook and fry the chicken in this masala for 5 minutes add pepper powder mix well. At last add the fried cashew. Adjust seasoning. Put off the flame. Cover and give 5 minutes standing time and then serve. Onion chicken goes very well with fried rice, paratha and kulcha.
